Destination Anguilla

It's hard to believe that June 2019 marks our 5th wedding anniversary. It's so fun looking back on pictures of our wedding every year (you can see some here on Martha Stewart). One of the things that I love most about my husband Austin is his desire to travel. As we found ourselves pregnant, we vowed to be the type of family that wouldn't be held back from this love because of a baby. It's exciting to know that our son Anson will be touring the world with us for many years to come.

Last year's anniversary trip we stayed close to home (Anson had just turned three months old) and spent a long weekend at the (then) newly opened Cavalier Hotel in Virginia Beach. For our anniversary trip this year, we've decided to venture to the Caribbean. While we have both been to the Caribbean many times, it will be our first trip to the British West Indies island of Anguilla.

Today I'm sharing a few must-haves (and nice-to-haves) on my Anguilla shopping list.

I'm definitely having a mint moment and the thought of carrying this beautifully woven Palorosa Project bag to the beach is a daydream in itself.

Sourcing parts and pieces from small and independent suppliers around the world, New Orleans based Krewe is my favorite for sunglasses. Who wouldn't want to see the world through these rose colored glasses?

A beautifully embroidered beaded bird hat by Eugenia Kim will make hiding my face from the sun an elegant affair. If only I could have this exquisite Voutsa hatbox to match.

Candy-striped seafoam colored rashguard and briefs from Minnow have already made their way to Anson's closet.

After 11 summers of swim team followed by a half decade as a lifeguard, my skin has started to develop basal cell carcinomas (it doesn't help that I'm extremely fair-skinned). My skin surgeon recommends Blue Lizard Australian sunscreen as the absolute best source of protection, for both me and baby.

For Anson, I absolutely adore this Olli Ella See-Ya Suitcase in mint.

While at the College of Charleston I worked at Saks (the Charleston location no longer exists) and Tom Ford partnered with Estée Lauder on the most luxurious body oil that smelled like the best trip to the beach you can ever remember. I have had it almost 15 years, savoring every drop. Tom Ford recently released his own Soleil body oil, which is ever so close to the version I have kept from many moons ago.

It has been more than 10 years since I've bought a pair of Jack Rogers, but I am coming back around to these classic leather thongs. Love these made-to-order pair of pink and gold sandals.

Graphic Image makes all of Tiffany's leather products and their python embossed luggage tag is perfect for easily spotting your piece off the plane. I'm *definitely* going to be stashing these VERB Energy Salted Peanut bars in my suitcase. I'm literally obsessed.
